I know you’re wondering what’s the plot twist, huh? I’ll tell you right after I give you a little summary so you can understand better.Īfter a little party in a barn where there was booze Dara and Nick are having a heavy discussion on their way home and they have a car accident.
But by the end of the book I forgot everything and was so thrilled by the book that I really didn’t care. To be honest, it was a bit confusing from time to time, but you get used to it really. The story is told in Before, After and Dara’s diary entries. Also in the mix is Dara’s best friend, but I can’t remember her name right now…oh wait and obviously Madeline Snow (I think that’s her name) the little girl who gets lost at the beginning. There’s also Parker, both girls’ love interest, and Nick’s former best friend. Whilst, Dara was the rebellious daughter who drank and did drugs and all that bad shenanigans rebellious teens get into. Nick being the model student who never used to get in trouble and had good grades and all that baggage. We have our two main characters, Nicole “Nick” and Dara Warren, the latter being the youngest.
So the story is about two teenage sisters who used to be extremely close, but became estranged after a car accident that ruined thr younger one’s face. Sorry!īefore I kick off I’d like to say, Lauren Oliver you evil person, how dare you troll us like that! This is the first book written by her that I’ve ever read and I truly loved it, especially that major, unexpected plot twist that I’m pretty sure a lot of us were clearly not expecting. This is going to be a very, very spoiler filled review.Īlso, I read this book two months ago so I’m having a bit of trouble remembering all the details entirely. Okay so if you don’t want the book spoiled for you I’m very sorry to say that you have to leave this page now. And when I finished I had only though, what the hell? When I finally got my package, by the next day I had already devoured the book completely. And let me tell you that I read the latter months ago and I absolutely loved it! So, obviously when I saw this comparison between the two books I waited rather impatiently for March 10th. I found out about this book via Facebook, approximately two months before it’s release thanks to an article posted by MTV in which they said something about Vanishing Girls being something like the next Gone Girl.
